Critical Canuck<p>I was asked recently by a family member why I take such a rabid stance against the <a href="https://socialism.social/tags/PPC" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>PPC</span></a> and now the <a href="https://socialism.social/tags/ConservativeParty" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ConservativeParty</span></a> under <a href="https://socialism.social/tags/Poilievre" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>Poilievre</span></a>, and by extension, why I considered myself a socialist in the context of <a href="https://socialism.social/tags/CanadianPolitics" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>CanadianPolitics</span></a>. </p><p>My reply was that I was committed to <a href="https://socialism.social/tags/antifascism" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>antifascism</span></a> because of my morals, but also, more simply:</p><p>These people want to kill my friends. <a href="https://socialism.social/tags/ColoradoSprings" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>ColoradoSprings</span></a> is the most recent example. </p><p>Any party or person who stands or marches alongside <a href="https://socialism.social/tags/FarRight" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>FarRight</span></a> extremists is an enemy.</p>
